In cooperation with Moldova for Peace, we hosted a two-day event at the Refugee Assistance Hub in Chisinau, focusing on promoting positive peace and mediation. This event followed a series of online meetings exploring Dealing with the Past, Positive Peace, and Mediation for minority community leaders.
The workshop aimed to foster peaceful communities by encouraging dialogue and non-violent approaches to conflict transformation. Participants were also empowered with practical communication and mediation skills to navigate and resolve conflicts. The event brought together minority representatives, refugees from Ukraine, anti-war exiles from Russia, and local peacebuilders.
Key speakers included Summer Levis, Coordinator of the Rotary-Institute for Economics & Peace Partnership, and Mykola Stebljanko, PDG, Past Charter President of Rotary E-Club Ukraine, who joined the event virtually from Mexico and Ukraine. Alina Ceban, President of Rotary Club Chisinau, also welcomed participants in person.
This initiative was made possible through the support of Rotary International and its partnership with the Institute for Economics and Peace.
